The Rosemount CriticalProcess™ Vortex is designed to increase plant availability and enhance overall safety.  This feature allows users to verify the performance of the Vortex sensor while providing an added level of safety on critical applications.

The CriticalProcess™ Vortex provides:

  • A unique design that isolates the Vortex sensor from the process

  • The ability for online maintenance of the Vortex sensor

  • A way to eliminate unnecessary process shutdowns, increasing availability without requiring bypass piping

The Vortex sensor in the Rosemount 8800D Vortex Flowmeter is isolated from the process making it possible to maintain the performance of the sensor online, greatly increasing process availability.  Sensor maintenance can be costly with traditional Vortex flowmeters. Unlike the 8800D, wetted Vortex sensor designs require that the process be shutdown or the meter bypassed to perform Vortex sensor maintenance.  The CriticalProcess™ Vortex eliminates this requirement, increasing availability and enhancing overall safety.

Benefits

On-line Flowmeter Maintenance Capability

Increase Availability

The Vortex sensor in the Rosemount 8800D Vortex Flowmeter is isolated from the process making it possible to maintain the performance of the sensor online, greatly increasing process availability. Vortex sensor maintenance can be costly on traditional vortex meters where users are required to shutdown or bypass their process. The CriticalProcess™ Vortex enhances the user's ability to maintain the Rosemount 8800D Vortex flowmeter on-line. This eliminates the need for a shutdown or additional piping to bypass the process around the flowmeter.

The CriticalProcess™ Vortex enhances safety by providing a method to verify plant personnel will not be exposed to process fluids while performing on-line maintenance and troubleshooting on the Rosemount 8800D Vortex Flowmeter.
